Advanced Labs & Testing
Finding what routine labs miss
Standard screening answers standard questions. When symptoms persist without a clear explanation, deeper testing often finds what routine labs miss. Lab work guides almost everything we do, from hormone therapy and weight management to mental health and prevention. It helps us find hidden imbalances, track your progress, and tailor your treatment.
What we test
Hormone panels: Sex hormones, thyroid, and stress hormones such as cortisol, to guide hormone therapy.
Nutrients and vitamins: Deficiencies that can affect immunity, mood, and energy.
Metabolic and heart health: Blood sugar, insulin, cholesterol, and other markers of long-term health.
Immune and inflammatory markers: Signs of chronic inflammation or autoimmune risk.
Specialty functional panels: When needed, tests such as GI-MAP (gut health), DUTCH (hormones and cortisol), organic acids, food sensitivity, heavy metals, and mycotoxins.
What testing can help uncover
• Hormone imbalances: perimenopause, menopause, low testosterone, thyroid problems, and stress-hormone issues
• Metabolic and heart concerns: diabetes, insulin resistance, high cholesterol or triglycerides, and metabolic syndrome
• Nutrient deficiencies: vitamins, minerals, and amino acids linked to fatigue and mood changes
• Digestive and inflammatory issues: immune problems, allergies, autoimmune disease, and chronic inflammation
• Mental health and brain function: imbalances linked to anxiety, depression, mood, and brain fog
GeneSight genetic testing
GeneSight is a genetic test that shows how your body is likely to process many common medications for anxiety, depression, and ADHD. It can help guide medication choices, especially if past medications didn’t work or caused side effects. The results are one piece of your overall care plan.
How it works
1. Telehealth consultation. Marianna reviews your symptoms, history, lifestyle, and current medications, and decides which tests are useful for you.
2. Visit a local lab. You’ll go to a lab near you for a blood draw or to drop off urine or stool samples. Some tests are done with an at-home kit.
3. Review your results. At your follow-up visit, Marianna explains your results and builds a personalized treatment plan.
4. Ongoing monitoring. Depending on your needs, labs may be repeated every few months, twice a year, or yearly.
Cost
Functional lab testing is done through Vibrant Wellness and is not covered by insurance. We’ll discuss costs before ordering any tests.
